We did lots of fun things during October. We did lots of craft and made decorations. It was a fun month! This is super long post but lots of pictures! Enjoy!
Here is Maycie's pumpkin (she had a little help). Haylee made a cool witch pumpkin but the wind blew it all apart.
We made spider egg sacks. The girls thought this was so fun and they wanted to hang them all over the house.
Haylee made this one and she put it right in front of the front door so people would walk into it when they came in the house.
Maycie made this egg sack. She moved hers around a lot so all of the spiders were gone by the time Halloween rolled around.
The girls got these teeth and wore them for days! Haylee even tried to eat an apple with them.
The girls were completely spoiled! So many of the neighbors brought over cute gift bags filled with candy and toys. (Plus they got a couple of care packages from Bret's family.) While our friends were bringing over these bags they were able to take a picture of the cute little bunny that lives under our shed. So cute!
The girls had fun playing with some fun photo booth props.
Haylee thought the props were so much fun. Maycie wasn't as crazy about the whole idea.
I made the girls scary blankets! The whole idea came about three years ago when I was in Oregon visiting my Aunt Debbie. Well... the story goes like this: Sorry Mom and Dad for bringing up such a painful subject...I'll make it quick. Laramie was moving to Portland for culinary school. My parents were driving him and his belongings. Since my moms brother lives in Eugene they turned the moving trip into a road trip and invited my grandma to go with them. The day before they left I kind of I invited myself and Haylee to go along as well. Oh and I was pregnant with Maycie AND on bed rest. We made it to Oregon before the car problems hit. The poor Suburban was chugging and struggling and going SUPER slow. We finally made it to Portland and unloaded Laramie and his stuff. We sputtered our way to Eugene where we stayed with Blair and Debbie for a week longer than planned while the Suburban was getting a new transmission. Once we left there we hit the road cheerful and ready to get home. But we only made it to The Dalles where the car started acting the same way. We spent another week there in a hotel while the car was getting fixed. Again. After it was fixed there we were finally able to make it home. It really was the never ending trip that cost my parents a fortune but it was so much fun! I wish we could take a trip like that again! Ok, now lets get back on track, the quilt. While we were at Blair and Debbie's, Haylee kept snuggling up in my cousins scary blanket that Debbie had made. On the very last day there Debbie whipped up an amazing last minute quilt made out of scraps! Haylee was so excited!
She still uses that blanket! It was on her bed from the time she got it until we moved. We left it in storage and she has been asking me to make a new one for her and one for Maycie for months. Finally I gave in. I bought all the fabric when we went to Minot. It took a lot longer to make these blankets than I thought. I definitely didn't get them done in one day like Debbie did! But I'm so happy with them and most important, the girls love them!
The skeleton pieces are my favorite!
They still aren't completely finished but they are being used! I'm so happy the girls love them!
We made lots of paper crafts!
Maycie wanted to watch the glue dry before she moved onto the next project.
I didn't even think to take pictures after we had everything hanging up. We made enough crafts to completely cover our "dining room". We made paper plate spider webs, q-tip skeletons, mummies, ghosts, paper plate cats, and paper towel roll pumpkins.
What did you make for Halloween?
