I don't have any cookie sheets nor do I have the room to let the donuts spread out and raise. I had to roll them out on the table, cut them, put them on a sheet of tin foil, place that on the seats around the table and cover them with a sheet. It was the most nerve wracking hour waiting for those to raise. I had four kids in the house and I just stood in front of the table swatting hands and keeping kids from climbing on top of them.
This was my first batch to be fried. I thought I would need two pans to get them all done but one pan was all I could handle. As you can see the first batch was a little too dark. I was going crazy frying, cooling, frying, glazing, cooling, glazing, frying, cooling, glazing, cooling, sorting. Yes, CRAZY! It was almost a workout!
Like I said, Maycie did help... but she kept glazing the raw donuts!
I can't wait to try making these again at Christmas time. Hopefully Bret will be here and we'll get a system down! No matter what, the neighbors all liked the donuts and have been asking for more! Score!
