After the rain

We had another rain storm this evening. It came out of nowhere. There were beautiful blue skies and five minutes later it was dark and the rain was pounding down. Both the girls were asleep and I was tempted to go to bed also. Then I realized it was only 6:00. There was thunder and lightening for 20 minutes or so then it cleared right up again. After the girls woke up we decided to go find some mud puddles to jump in. We found a few but the walk down to the mailbox was so beautiful we spent more time walking than jumping. I didn't want it to end. The smell was amazing. The farmers have been cutting their hay this week, after the rain it smelled like freshly cut grass. The light was perfect. The girls were excited to go exploring but they weren't wild. They walked from one side of the road to the other trying to find every color of flowers. It was not hot but almost chilly. I felt like I was camping. Being outside tonight was exactly what makes me happy. It was beautiful. If I had known how nice it was going to be I would have grabbed my camera but all I had with me was my phone. I don't think any of these pictures need explaining.
