The first 9 were like the pictures above, with the mountains, trees and views of Cascade Lake. The back 9 were in the woods. Surrounded by pine trees and quaking aspens. There were horses on the course, a coyote and deer. It was like the golf course just landed in the forest by mistake. But it wasn't a mistake... and I loved it!
My dad caught this poor little frog in a sand trap and Haylee was put in charge of returning it to its home. She had to find somewhere swampy for it to live.
I was so excited and completely swept away the entire day because Bret had INVITED me to go with him. Usually when we go golfing I invite myself or I just get in the truck and don't even give him time to think about it. This time, he invited me! I really didn't care how the golfing was, I just felt all giggly inside because it was like being on a first date again, with Bret. I know its dumb girl feelings, but I get so excited and love when he wants to spend time together!
I love that we took Haylee. She loves golfing and even though 18 holes was overboard for her, she still had fun being out there. It was hard to keep her contained to the golf carts because there was so much to explore. She just wanted to run through the trees and streams. It was fun spending quality time with her.
I'm so glad my dad was with me on my first golf experience. Everybody knows I'm a just a big old daddy's girl and things seem easier when he's there by me. I loved having him coach me along. He stayed right by me and taught me which club to use and how to swing. I know it wouldn't have been as enjoyable for me if I had to try to keep up with Bret's power swing the whole time. So I really am thankful my dad was there to help me!
