Duck Dynasty Day! Jack!

Hey! Finally Duck Dynasty has arrived! We couldn't find any kid Duck Dynasty gear so Bret had the brilliant idea to have Maycie wear one of his shirts. He was just going to tie it up so it wasn't dragging but after he went to bed I took his idea even further! Sorry Babe, you're not getting your shirt back... look how cute Maycie's dress turned out!

I know I've said it a million times before but if you haven't started watching Duck Dynasty yet, YOU NEED TO START! We laugh so hard throughout each episode. Without fail. Some episodes leave me in tears from laughing so hard. So if you watch the show, you know Uncle Si always has his cup tea. Always. He says he's had the cup since Vietnam.
That's why Maycie has the cup.

It rained last night and was really cold this morning but the fields we pass everyday were so pretty this morning we had to stop and take a few pictures.

I love how Maycie was rocking on her boots. She LOVES these boots and they were perfect for todays outfit!

That is all for Spirit Week. Make sure to go back here to the beginning and look at all four days. We had so much fun this week!

What do you remember most about Spirit Week from when you were a kid? Or from your current school? Feel free to leave a comment below! My favorite was Crazy Hair Day. Hopefully we'll do something wild when Haylee has Spirit Week.

Hawaiian Day!

Wednesday was Hawaiian Day. I'm so glad we were able to stop at Hobby Lobby in Minot and get the leis. They really completed the outfit. Mace was adorable!

The towel was a fun touch and it was her idea!

ABCmouse.com

Have you ever heard of ABCmouse.? If you have kids you should definitely check it out. The girls absolutely love it! Its a learning site that teaching so many things like letters, numbers, shapes, you know, all the good stuff. When we pick up Haylee at the bus stop its usually the first thing she asks for. I have her do her real homework before she gets to play it though. I'm surprised how much she has learned from playing all the games. It has even taught Maycie to use a mouse and she can click on the things she wants to play. They have different levels which makes the lessons different for each girl. They earn tickets when they finish a lesson and then they get to "shopping" for pets or clothes for their avatar.

Anyway, if you have kids I really think you should check it out! It will be great for cold winter days when the kids can't play outside after school. Also, if the girls miss school for one reason or another, I let them play it a little bit longer than usual. That way they are getting something educational in. They think they're just playing games but they really are learning so much!
Basically, its awesome!

Sports Day!

Maycie was excited to get ready for school again. She helped me make this shirt Monday night so she would have something to wear for Sports Day. She was not happy about me taking more pictures though! Luckily Daddy was there to distract her.

She picked the number 3 because that's how old she is.

Maycie started Preschool!

I can't believe how late this post is! Maycie started school September 9th. She has always been super attached and hasn't liked being left with babysitters or nursery or anywhere new. I was sure getting her to stay at preschool would be challenge. I just knew that she would cry and sob and it would be so hard. Boy was I completely wrong! She was in such a hurry to get in her class she didn't even say goodbye! Bret and I took her in to school, helped her put her backpack away and she was off. Not even a hug. I couldn't believe how in literally one instant she went from being our little baby to being a big girl going to school.

After school, we picked her up and all she wanted to do was eat a snack and ride her bike. What's better for and afternoon snack than a Twinkie??

Here are a bunch of pictures we took. She was having fun showing off her backpack and school clothes.

Maycie loves school so much. She's been looking forward to going for years now. She always wanted to go to preschool with Haylee. She would cry nearly everyday when we dropped Haylee off at school saying that she wanted to stay. I'm so happy that she loves school. I hope she always does. I hope that she keeps this excitement for learning and education. I can't wait to see how much she grows and learns this year!

Girls Day Out!

When the temperatures dropped into the 30s the other day I decided it was time to get some new shoes. Something other than flip flops. Since the only places to buy shoes in Williston are super expensive boot/work gear stores or Walmart I figured a trip to Minot was in order. Bret wasn't able to make it so I took the girls on my own. I absolutely love how dressed up Haylee got. She was so excited to go.

We made our traditional first stop in town at the Olive Garden.

Haylee was talking about "dunking bread" the entire drive! We always get a boat (or two... or three) of alfredo sauce to dip our breadsticks in. Its the best part of the meal!

The girls were so good. I was a little worried about not having another adult with me; just incase one child got a little wild I wasn't sure what I would do with the other one. Luckily I didn't have to deal with wild children.

Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE Minot?? I really do. Every time I go there I like it more and more. After lunch we went to the mall and we all got new boots. After that we went to Hobby Lobby and walked around for at least an hour. I told the girls that if they were good we would go do something fun afterwards. They were so good!

We picked the ZOO as our fun place!

Its called the Roosevelt Park Zoo and it reminds me of Willow Park Zoo in Logan.

I think I was most excited about the lion drinking fountain, it made me feel like we were at the Hogle Zoo!

I rented a wagon for the girls but Haylee said she just wanted to push Maycie in a stroller instead. Maycie thought it was the coolest thing ever! Haylee did amazing. She really pushed Maycie through the entire zoo. I was so impressed!

After the zoo we stopped at McDonalds for dinner. The girls loved that it had a play place and these fun chairs.

I loved the sign out front.

It was such a fun day. I love spending time with these little girls. They have already decided that our next trip will include Daddy, swimming and ice cream. I can't wait!
