Haylee girl

Here are some pictures of Haylee... mostly of her hair because she likes to see a picture her hair everyday before she goes to school.

She was really frustrated one morning and doesn't want to finish brushing her hair. We've been working on dealing with natural consequences to her actions. This is something her therapist has us work on. It's REALLY hard!!! The idea is to get her to realize that her choices matter. She can't just say that she doesn't care or doesn't want to choose. Things like ... If she doesn't brush her hair, then people will probably laugh at her. Or if she doesn't brush her teeth then she'll get cavities again and those hurt. Or people could tell her that her breath stinks. Did I mention that this is a HARD thing?! When she chooses not to do something, I'm supposed to support her decision.

So, on this particular morning she didn't want to finish brushing her hair. She said she didn't care. I am not about to send her to school without having something done to her hair... so I reminded her off the potential consequence. Once again she didn't care that people would laugh. I finally took this picture and showed her. When she saw it she started laughing and said she didn't think brushing her hair made it look different but with this picture she saw it looked completely different.

Needless to say, she finished brushing her hair and was only slightly late to school.

I don't remember if I've shared this picture yet. Haylee has been learning about living and non living things in science. They had to draw a picture of each. She drew Bronco as the living and his food and water as non living. Pretty good huh!

Another cute hairdo.

We went to Bismarck with the young women last week.  While they were eating lunch we ran over to Old Navy to get some jeans. It was safety week so the girls were able to climb in an ambulance, play with safety equipment and take a picture as a fire fighter. They also got loads of free coloring stuff.

That's all for now.
