Our elf is back!

Yes, I'll admit it, we have a cute little Elf on the Shelf. She came to us last year and the girls absolutely loved her. For those who don't know about the whole trend of Elf on the Shelf, it is a little "scout elf" that Santa sends to watch over you. You name the scout elf the first day he/she arrives. Each night after the kids are in bed, the elf flies back to Santa to report good and bad behavior. By the next morning the elf is back in a new spot in the house.

Last year when our elf came, Haylee named her Cutie Pie. This year Maycie added on a middle name.

The elf comes in this big box with this cute book; which the girls insist we read every night.

 

The book talks about not breaking rules and doing the best you can. It also talks about the rules of the elf, you cannot touch the elf because touching it takes away its Christmas magic.

 

Last year, Cutie Pie, was kind of boring. She sat on the few shelves we have over and over again. This year I have a feelings things are going to be more exciting!

 

 

She's already making snow angels!

 

Maycie was the first to find Cutie Pie Rosie Posie and she hasn't stopped talking about her. Its so fun watching her talk to Cutie Pie. She's been telling her loads of secrets and she's constantly whispering things. It adorable!

 

Haylee just sat studying Cutie Pie asking how she holds so still for so long. I love how curious she is!

 

So far, Cutie Pie Rosie Posie has kept the girls on their best behavior. If they start arguing one of them will say something about the elf watching and they don't want to get in trouble. I really hope they continue this way. Its so fun! Now we just need to work on getting other Christmas decorations up. The snow has decorated outside we need to work on the inside!
